INSTRUCTIONS ON
How to publish a Garage Keepers Lien Notice
In either the
Newspaper(s)
or
The Yukon Gazette

There are two methods for publishing your Garage Keepers Lien Notice.

For your reference, you will find a link to this act at the bottom of these instructions.

 

Publishing a Garage Keepers Lien Notice in
the NEWSPAPER

  •  
 Fill in your online Garage Keepers Lien notice form. (pdf)
  •  
 Submit completed online Garage Keepers Lien notice form by e-mail to the Editor, The Yukon Gazette to: queens.printer@gov.yk.ca.
  •  
 The notice will be reviewed by the Editor, The Yukon Gazette.
  •  
 Once approved by the Editor of The Yukon Gazette, the approved notice is e-mailed back to you. Please ensure that you provide a current e-mail address.
  •  
 Fax the approved copy of your notice, or e-mail the electronic file of your notice to one or both of the local newspapers for ad formatting.

 Newspaper(s) will fax a copy of the notice to the Editor of The Yukon Gazette for final approval before publishing.
  •  
 The Editor of The Yukon Gazette will fax an approved, signed-off copy of the notice to the newspaper(s) and to you.
  •  
 The newspaper(s) will publish the notice and invoice you directly for the ad.

Publishing a Garage Keepers Lien Notice in
The Yukon Gazette online

  •  
 Fill in your online Garage Keepers Lien notice form and submit by e-mail to the Editor, The Yukon Gazette at: queens.printer@gov.yk.ca ensuring that you provide your fax number and correct mailing address.The notice will be reviewed by the Editor, The Yukon Gazette.
  •  
 Once approved, it will be produced in the 1st draft of the current issue of The Yukon Gazette.
  •  
 Once the 1st draft is received by the Editor of The Yukon Gazette, a copy of the page, containing the ad, will be faxed to you for final proofing and for any changes, if required.
  •  
 Any changes will be made, if required, and a final draft copy of ad will be faxed to you.
  •  
 Once approved, the notice will be published in the current issue of The Yukon Gazette.
  •  
 Once current issue printed, a copy will be mailed to you for your records.

Important: All Garage Keepers Lien notices published in the newspaper(s) must follow the format outlined above, and be approved by the Editor, The Yukon Gazette to be a legal Gazette notice. Any Garage Keepers Lien notices, published in the newspapers in the Personal ads will not be considered a legal Gazette notice, as per Section 8 of the Garage Keepers Lien Act.(pdf)
